My favorite part of the holiday season is, hands down, the fabulous fashions that accompany all the festivities. Alas, I have few events that call for glamorous togs, but I always hope to have an excuse to buy something shiny and glittery to wear. On the past, Steve and I have attended the [Discovery Center’s](http://www.discoverycenter.org/) Festival of Trees fundraising event which calls for holiday attire. Last year, I took a cue from the ’70s and wore cream satin pants, a black silk kimono-sleeved top and killer red patent stilettos. It was a comfortable look that was different from the sea of black dresses. Although we haven’t decided if we’re attending the event this year, I did some pre-event shopping today in case we go. I found the most wonderful silver brocade dress that looks like it was made in the ’60s. Carrie, my shopping companion, declared it a winner and I brought it home (you know, in case we go). I’ve decided to pair it with black opaque tights and deep charcoal metallic pumps. With my short hair I’m sure to look very Mod. Now all I have to do is convince Steve we need to buy the tickets!
The dress is reason enough to go. It is fabulous!
