Topic of the Week

With a new season of fashion awaiting us, I thought this week’s topic should involve our wardrobes. So, with all the crazy trends we’ve embraced over the years, what’s the craziest outfit you ever wore? One that you LOVED at the time and can’t believe you ever owned it.

This is a hard one for me to answer because I’ve worn so many awful things. I was a child of the 80s – ’nuff said there. I guess one of my worst outfits was made by my mom (sorry mom) but I was the one who chose the pattern and material. It was a one piece jumper out of chambray blue with white polka dots, a huge pink and white collar, and, wait for it, porcelain cow-shaped buttons. I completed this ensemble with pink flats and white hose. Eeek!

  1. Wardrobe, eh? I owned a complete Z Cavaricci suit made of thin twill fabric in a dark grey. The buttons on the jacket were all different, mostly gearish shaped, like the pieces of a watch. Also, the cut of the jacket and pants was odd in a “stylish” way. Not.

    Most. Embarassing. Purchase. Ever.

Sad but true, I would prob still wear most of my “awful outfits”, if they fit! I’ve never been known for being terribly fashion current 🙂

  3. Oh, Steve. You sexy man, you. You’re one hot tamale.

Well I certainly don’t remember even making this frock, much less you wearing it. Do you have a photo of it. Must have been so bad I blocked it from memory.

  5. You probably blocked it from your memory. Trust me, it was bad. Almost as bad as the navy vinyl hot pants you wore in the 70s.

I don’t remember that outfit, either. And you know my memory for clothing … are you sure you really wore it?

  7. I wore this in the early 90s so you probably didn’t see it. Consider yourself lucky. It was around the time I decided to perm my hair. Another tragic mistake.
