I’ve decided to search for a new perfume and it’s no small task. For the last two years I’ve worn Stella Sheer by Stella McCartney and I love it. However, I’m trying to branch out and decided to look for a winter fragrance. Problem is, I hate most perfumes and they hate me. A lot of fragrances that smell good in the bottle or sprayed on a piece of paper, turn ugly when combined with my chemistry. Tonight, while puttering around Macy’s, I decided to peruse the fragrance counter. Most were not my style, but I found one I was willing to actually put on my body. It’s Euphoria by Calvin Klein. Calvin, Ralph Lauren and I have a nice history. Most of the fragrances don’t change on me. This one, Euphoria, was warm with a note of fruit on top. However, after wearing it for the past two hours, I must say it’s a bit too strong. It’s a nice scent, just too much for me. I’m looking for something sheer, warm and not too sweet. I don’t like too much vanilla, amber or pachouli. Any suggestions?
Yo, workin’ late and prettyprettybangbang provides a hiatus.
Having lived briefly in two cities equipped with a Sephora, I will hazard this one.
Either for her birthday or mother’s day, it escapes me which one, I got my Mom Kenneth Cole by Kenneth Cole for women this year. Didn’t seem too strong, or too girly, nor did it go off in granny-Guerlain territory. I thought of it as citrusy, a little woodsy, but I didn’t think of “vanilla” or “patchouli” when picking it out.
Of course, The New York Times now has a scent critic (yes); I’ve read his writing about perfume and he seems to know what he’s talking about. Maybe he could help. NPR story below.

Also, I’ve gotta new blog! Link me and consider the fine advertisements from the nice people at Google AdSense.
Thanks for the suggestion. I’ll check it out when I go to Dillard’s later this week. I’m also going to listen to the NPR story.
I’ll link your blog when you send me the address!
I’ve been scent shopping too. I’ve been wearing a wardrobe of Burberry scents for the past year or so (Brit/winter and London/summer). Before that, DKNY Cashmere Mist (winter) and Dolce & Gabbana’s Light Blue (summer). Just to shake things up, I still have the regular Stella, Kenzo Summer, and Issey Miyake’s signature scent on the dresser.
I’ve recently tried Euphoria and liked it – it didn’t linger so strongly on me. Have you tried Lucky #6? http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=211212&CategoryID=25047&LinkType=EverGreen
Ill link your blog when you send me the address!

Was it supposed to link from where it says “Greg” in the comment? You know me; all about the content, leaving mechanics to others 🙂

Of course it’s there! I’m an idiot! Everyone, check out Greg’s blog. I guarantee you’ll enjoy it, he’s a fabulous writer.
Suzanne, after wearing Euphoria all night, I awoke to a very subtle scent on my wrists so maybe it’s not as strong as I originally thought. Haven’t tried Lucky #6, but saw it last night as I was winding down my search. I’ll check it next.
