Tiptoe Through the Tulips

Spring has arrived early here and it’s put me in a delightful frame of mind. I feel like frolicking! I feel light and airy! I feel pretty, oh so pretty, I feel pretty and witty and, oh nevermind. Anyway, it’s been in the 60s for a couple of days and I actually broke out the ol’ crop pants today – despite the fact [Tim Gunn](http://www.bravotv.com/Project_Runway/bio/heidi_and_tim/Tim_Gunn) says women over 40 shouldn’t wear them. He and I will just have to disagree on this one.

I realize, here in the fickle state of Missouri, we could have a snowstorm tomorrow which is why I’m relishing the moment today. Welcome Spring! Welcome sunshine!

Would Tim Gunn rather see women over 40 wearing shorts? I rest my case. Crop pants are essential part of my spring/summer wardrobe – fall, for that matter, since I live in the sub-tropics of Texas. I would tell you how many pair I have, but that would be embarrassing. Plus I don’t like my husband to hear statistics like that; the less he knows, the better.

  2. Hmm…I’ve never heard of Tim Gunn, but I see that he’s probably an important fashion guy. I’m not 40 yet (but very close!), so I guess I’m still okay…BUT once I am 40, I will still be 6′ tall and pants will still be too short for me. I’m doomed to a lifetime of cropped pants. Tim Gunn will just have to get over it.

  3. I doubt if Mr. Gunn wil arrive at our homes and arrest us for fashion crimes. I really don’t understand all the fuss about crop pants on women over 40. Cindy’s right: do we really want to see older women wearing shorts????

Staci, I feel your pain when it comes to pants being too short. Although I’m only 5’8″, I need an inseam of 34-36″ for my pants to be long enough – especially with heels! Embrace your height! I always wanted to be taller.
